On 30 March 2026, Family Health Promotion (FHP) organized a community hygiene and environmental sanitation activity at the area commonly known as Quarantine in Dzaleka Refugee Camp. Originally established to accommodate new arrivals during the COVID-19 pandemic, the site continues to be known by this name and is currently home to vulnerable individuals and families who do not have permanent housing within the camp.
The activity brought together FHP volunteers and community members to promote a cleaner and healthier living environment. Participants engaged in cleaning surrounding areas, collecting and properly disposing of waste, and raising awareness about the importance of maintaining good hygiene practices in shared living spaces.
During the event, FHP emphasized the role of environmental cleanliness in preventing diseases and improving community well-being. Community members were encouraged to keep their surroundings clean, practice proper waste management, and work together to create a safe and healthy environment for all residents.
This initiative reflects FHP’s continued commitment to promote public health, environmental protection, and community resilience among refugee and host populations in Dzaleka Refugee Camp.
