Community and Hygiene Awareness Campaign in Dzaleka

On 10th, January 2026, Family Health Promotion conducted a community clean-up activity in Dzaleka Refugee Camp, focusing on a water drainage channel that passes between residential houses. During the rainy season, the drainage frequently becomes blocked by waste, causing stagnant water and creating conditions that can contribute to the spread of diseases.

FHP volunteers worked together to remove accumulated waste and restore the proper flow of water through the drainage system. In addition to the clean-up exercise, the team conducted hygiene awareness sessions with community members, emphasizing the importance of maintaining a clean environment, proper waste disposal, and preventing the dumping of rubbish into drainage channel.

The activity aimed to promote a healthier living environment, reduce disease risks, and encourage community responsibility for environmental cleanliness and hygiene. FHP remains committed to supporting communities through practical actions and education that improve public health and well-being
